Chicago-first · private construction pilot

Progress to approval.Without the PDF chase.

BuildFlow is being shaped for subcontractors and the GCs they bill: a mobile-first way to prepare a monthly pay application, send it for review, and keep waiver paperwork with the job.

Starting in Chicago. Built around private construction jobs.

The pilot workflow

One job. One monthly rhythm.

The first version is focused on the paper trail between a subcontractor and the GC reviewing its work—not another system to roll out across a whole company.

Chicago first

BuildFlow is starting with a private-construction pilot in Chicago and learning from the teams who handle pay applications every month.

01

Set up the schedule of values.

Build the job’s billing schedule once, then use it as the starting point for each monthly application.

02

Update progress. Prepare the pay app.

Update percent complete by line to prepare a G702/G703-style pay application and matching conditional waiver.

03

Send the GC one review link.

The GC can review, approve or request changes. First-time review is designed to work without a login.

04

Keep the payment paperwork together.

The planned workflow keeps approval, retainage and waiver status with the job, with an unconditional waiver after payment is recorded.

Pilot workflow is planned for launch. Waiver requirements vary by state and project; BuildFlow is not a substitute for legal advice.

Built for both sides of the pay app

Make the first GC review useful.

In the planned workflow, a sub sends the pay application and the GC opens one link to review it, approve it or request changes.

First-time review is designed to work without a login. The aim: make the approval path easier to follow before asking the GC to adopt another tool.
